Fluide Nanostructures and Soft Nanomaterials is a research lab within the UPB research centre CAMPUS that brings together two laboratories of INOVABIOMED project, Laboratory of advanced methods for polymers and nanomaterials processing (LMAPPN) and Laboratory of intelligent systems of controlled release (LISCR). These laboratories are thought-out and designed as an effective tool for manufacture and characterization of biomedical products using the latest equipment. In this laboratory modern and innovative solutions for fabrication of finite biomedical products (such as films, coatings, various components of medical devices, 3D scaffolds for tissue engineering, pharmaceuticals etc.) will be developed, using extrusion of melted materials. Also, the laboratory uses highly advanced, complex, and unique techniques (e.g. Bio-printing system, customized electrospinning system) for fabrication of a wide range of biomedical products, from implants, matrixes for tissue regeneration to artificial organs like prototypes, which can replace or substitute different diseased or affected parts of the body, and intelligent systems that allow the controlled release of drugs and bioactive species for a wide variety of applications (early diagnosis, personalized treatment, monitoring and prognostic oncology). The Fluide Nanostructures and Soft Nanomaterials laboratory aims to become a real support for potential industrial partners in Romania, and not only, in manufacturing new biomaterials and / or developing improved solutions for market available products.
