Cooperation with the Faculty of Energy Engineering.

The Laboratory for Innovation, Energy and Future Sustainable Environment is a collaborative and innovative research laboratory aimed at addressing complex environmental and sustainability challenges. This laboratory brings together different fields of expertise to develop integrated solutions fostering the health of ecosystems and contributing to a more sustainable and circular global economy. The research laboratory aims to advance Environmental Impact Assessment as a crucial tool for informing decision-making processes, ensuring that development activities and policies align with sustainable environmental practices and mitigate negative consequences. In order to improve management, policy interventions, and public awareness, the research laboratory uses EIA to increase knowledge of environmental risks related to operations, projects, and policies.

The Key Goals of the research laboratory are:

  • Systematically evaluating the potential environmental effects of human activities, projects, and developments.
  • Innovation in sustainable technologies for air, water, and soil quality.
  • Implementation of sustainable waste management practices and the promotion of a circular economy.
  • Development of green energy solutions, especially hydrogen, to reduce carbon emissions.
  • Integrated policy recommendations that support sustainable development and resilient ecosystems.

By advancing cutting-edge technology and providing complete environmental solutions, this research laboratory acts as a centre for innovative and ground-breaking research that supports sustainable development. Its multidisciplinary approach guarantees that the challenges of sustainable development are approached from a wide-ranging, interconnected perspective. Five main research topics were established in accordance with the main research topics:

  • Environmental Remediation and Soil Risk Analysis
  • Air Quality
  • Water Quality
  • EcoWaste and Circular Economy
  • Hydrogen Innovation and Research
