Team AMPLIPH specializes in mixed-signal IC design using emerging beyond-CMOS (nano-) devices combined with “classic” CMOS circuits for the development of unconventional computation paradigms, data convertors, and power conversion applications. Our team provides design services to both industrial and academic partners, ranging from block-level IC design, such as digitally-assisted analog and mixed-signal blocks, to chip-level and system-level implementations. We also provide introductory courses, resembling EDU4CHIP, to educate students at both the graduate and undergraduate level to ensure they are prepared for a career in the European chip design industry. AMPLIPH has a dynamic team of senior teaching staff/senior researchers, at least 3 PhD students, and at least 3 MSc./BSc. students. The laboratory members have participated in over 10 research and development projects (e.g., FP7 Flagship Project, Hybrid NEMS-CMOS Architectures for Ultra Low Power Smart Systems (NEMSIC), 3D-TSV integration for multimedia and mobile applications, 3DIM3 – EUREKA European project; PNTS „Sprijin pentru 2 proiecte în domeniul tehnologiilor avansate și crearea de hub-uri de inovare și transfer tehnologic în domenii prioritare” – P1 – POCIDIF) as well as leading the tapeout of more than 15 chips with analog, digital, and mixed signal content during their industry tenure. The collective is the author of over 100 articles in specialized journals and international conferences. The lab has access to local computing power for IC design, as well as standard facilities such as conference rooms and workspaces
