AI Multimedia Lab specializes in the development and comparative analysis of Artificial Intelligence algorithms, i.e., machine learning, deep learning, information retrieval, for various multimedia applications such as surveillance and security, media, medicine, fintech, networking, to name just a few. AI Multimedia Lab has a dynamic team of 10 senior teaching staff/senior researchers and no less than 17 PhD students. The laboratory has so far implemented more than 21 research and development projects (e.g., H2020 AI4Media “A European Excellence Center for Media, Society and Democracy”, ICT-48-2020; Erasmus+ CBHE, UMETECH “University & Media Technology for Cultural Heritage”) as well as 11 service projects in collaboration with the industry (e.g., NXP, Keysight, Fotonation/Xperi, Harman, Vodafone, Hana Institute of Technology), accumulating a funding of over 30 million Euros. The collective is the author of 21 publicly released annotated datasets, 30 books and book chapters, 40 articles in specialized journals, 103 participations in international conferences, and 48 participations in international competitions. The lab has access to local computing power via 20 parallel computing systems, >3.2 TB RAM, >100 TB storage, GPUs 20x QUADRO M4000 GPU, 2x GTX 1080Ti, 8x RTX 2080Ti, 8x RTX A5000, totaling >90,000 CUDA cores; edge-computing and UAV systems, e.g., Phantom 4 multispectral, M100 matrix; as well as standard facilities such as conference and work rooms.
